Bi-Xenon lights with LED daytime running lights (Optional)

Lighting the road ahead, Bi-Xenon lights are brighter, making night-time driving even safer. The Passat Wagon features LED daytime visibility lights and LED tail lights for a more powerful on-road presence, while the dynamic cornering lights provide additional corner visibility. This option is only available with the Driver Assistance and Visibility Package.

Panoramic sunroof (Optional)

Designed to let in more light and air, this optional two-piece panoramic sliding roof is fully flexible and can be slid into position in seconds. If it’s too bright outside and you need some shade, there’s an electronically operated sunblind and integrated wind deflector to make sure hairs don’t get ruffled en route.

Alloy wheels

Stylish alloy wheels available on the Passat Wagon add a sporting touch to the elegant exterior. The 17” Sao Paulo alloy wheels make a distinctive statement on the 118TSI, while the 17” Michigan alloy wheels add design flair to the 125TDI Highline. Opt for the V6 FSI Highline and the 18” Kansas alloy wheels make a strong statement, reflective of the car’s power.

Find the perfect driving position with the 12-way electrically adjustable front seats – with driver’s memory in the V6 FSI Highline (optional on 118TSI and 125TDI Highline), and get the temperature just right with dual zone climate control air conditioning.

With a 60:40 split/ folding ‘remote release’ rear seat, there’s more than enough space in the back of the Passat Wagon for anything that needs to be moved. RCD510 audio system

With its 6.5-inch touch screen display, MP3 compatible SD card slot and 6-disc in dash CD changer, making sure you’ve got the right music for the moment is the hardest decision. For added ease, control the stereo from the multi-function steering wheel.

Bluetooth® phone connectivity

Stream phone calls straight from your mobile into the car’s audio system through the integrated audio Bluetooth® system. Your phonebook is visible in the Passat Wagon’s Multi-Function Display unit, allowing you to scroll for names and numbers with ease, and safely. If you have tunes on your mobile you like to listen to, stream them straight to the car with Bluetooth® audio streaming.

RNS510 Satellite Navigation System (Optional)

Make the most of enjoying your journey and let the optional integrated RNS510 satellite navigation system take the strain of getting you there. With a high-resolution screen, the system offers both 2D topographical and 3D (bird’s eye) map views with voice control for navigation and radio functions. The single DVD drive is able to play back audio CD/ MP3 files and DVD discs. The screen also features the Rear View Camera (RVC Plus) with dynamic guidance lines.

Dynaudio premium audio system (Optional)

Take your musical experience to another dimension with the addition of the optional Dynaudio Confidence audio system. With 600W capability, the premium audio system features the latest 10 channel digital amplifier for crystal clear quality and 10 speakers to ensure that not a beat is missed. Dynaudio is compatible with either the RCD510 audio system or the optional RNS510 satellite navigation system.

Driver Fatigue Detection system

It’s always good having an intuitive system to alert the driver when responsiveness appears to indicate fatigue. In the Passat Wagon this comes in the form of the innovative driver Fatigue Detection system.

The technology is constantly analysing individual driving characteristics including evaluating steering movements. When your driving characteristics indicate fatigue, the driver Fatigue Detection system kicks in with a warning chime and a message in the Multi-Function Display unit recommending you take a break from driving.

Traction and braking control systems

If road conditions turn tricky, the Passat Wagon has a wealth of traction and braking control systems as standard to help keep you firmly on the tarmac. Electronic Stabilisation Program (ESP) works in coordination with the Electronic Differential Lock (EDL) and Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR) to help prevent the vehicle skidding or wheels spinning by applying braking and adjusting engine power depending on the conditions.

There are different braking control systems such as Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Brake Assist and Electronic Brake-pressure Distribution (EBD). Together these features prevent the wheels from locking; monitoring each wheel individually to make sure the Passat Wagon comes to a swift and safe stop while maintaining steering control.

Airbags

The Passat Wagon makes its commitment to safety clear with 8 airbags located throughout the cabin. Incorporating driver and passenger front and side airbags, the Passat Wagon also makes sure rear passengers are well protected with outer rear seat passenger side airbags and curtain airbags, front and rear, for added head protection should the situation demand.Seat belt pre-tensioners and safety optimised head restraints

Designed to meet the toughest of safety tests for driver and passenger, the front seat passengers are protected with the safety of seat belt pre-tensioners and belt force limiters that tighten on impact.

The Passat Wagon also features rear seatbelt warnings, so you’ll instantly know whether your rear seat passengers are belted in. Working in unison with the seat belts, the safety optimised front head restraints are designed to reduce whiplash injury, giving optimal protection in critical situations.

118kW TSI petrol engine

The remarkable 118kW TSI petrol engine is ideal if you’re looking for an engine that gives more for less. The turbocharged engine pumps out 118kW of power and an impressive 250Nm of torque; mated to the innovative 7-speed DSG transmission. All this combines to create excellent torque and power, with lower fuel consumption and fewer emissions for you.

125kW TDI diesel engine

If you’re looking to go further between fill ups at the pump, the 2.0 litre common rail turbo TDI diesel engine is the perfect engine for the job. Delivering 125kW of power and 350Nm of torque for effortless performance, the engine is matched with the smooth 6-speed DSG transmission. As well as key Volkswagen BlueMotion Technologies, engine Start/ Stop system and brake energy recuperation for lower fuel consumption and emissions.

Start/Stop technology is a clever and simple way to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. Every time you come to a stand still, the engine switches off. When you release the brake pedal the engine starts again, ready to go.

Brake energy recuperation utilises energy normally lost during braking. Every time you decelerate, energy is captured and converted into electrical energy, used to recharge the battery - thereby reducing the load on the engine.

220kW FSI petrol engine

The powerful 3.6 litre V6 direct injection FSI petrol engine represents the ultimate balance between sheer power and efficient engine technologies. Using FSI technology, fuel is injected directly into the engine’s combustion chamber at precisely timed intervals. This creates a more efficient combustion and a smoother power delivery, producing 220kW of power and impressive 350Nm of torque.

Delivered through the 6-speed DSG transmission, it’s controlled by pinpoint accuracy thanks to the 4MOTION all-wheel drive system and adaptive chassis control as standard.

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Front Assist and City Emergency Brake (City EB) (Optional)

An extension of regular cruise control, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) uses a radar sensor to automatically brake and accelerate (within a set range) to keep a pre-selected distance from other cars on the road. ACC is able to react to moving traffic, speeding up or slowing down (to a pre-selected speed) should a vehicle pull into or depart from your lane.

Using the same radar sensor, Front Assist observes the distance from the car in front, and should a rear collision seem likely, the system kicks in to help prevent any collision or reduce its intensity.

The City EB function can also significantly reduce the severity of collisions by providing an acoustic and visual warning to the driver, as well as automatic braking and/or boosting of braking pressure if required.

DSG transmission

Always one step ahead, the intelligent 6 or 7-speed DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox) transmission has two gear sets and two clutches. One gear set and clutch is engaged while driving the vehicle, while the second clutch (having already pre-selected the next gear) waits for power to be transferred.

Meaning your next gear is never more than 3-4/100ths of a second away. This makes a smoother ride with almost unnoticeable gear changes, and better economy for your pocket as the car selects the optimal gear for power and efficiency. All-in-all, a winning combination. 

Park Assist and Lane Assist (Optional)

The Passat Wagon features a variety of standard and optional technologies, all designed to assist the driver and make the journey as smooth and safe as possible.Two such optional systems include Park Assist 2 with RVC Plus and Lane Assist.

Using sensors mounted in the front and rear of the vehicle, Park Assist 2 is able to identify and manoeuvre the vehicle into spaces, ideal for both parallel and 90 degree parking. All you do is control the speed and let the vehicle do the parking. Park Assist 2 with RVC Plus is an optional extra on all Passat Wagon models.

Lane Assist activates using a camera mounted in the rear view mirror. Constantly monitoring the lane markings of the road ahead, it recognises if you unintentionally stray from your lane, gently steering you back on course. The system also features an audible warning chime and message in the Multi-Function Display unit should the driver need to take any extra action.
